Union Pier "Chapel" in the Woods is Home to a Work of Art!

A truly remarkable reproduction of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel covers half of the peaked ceiling in this 1800-sq.-ft. building, with the outside appropriately transformed to look like a chapel. Painted in the early '90s by muralist Kevin W. Hay, it remains incomplete, though this does reveal the artist's process. There's no question this amazing work of art has great potential of becoming an attraction that would benefit the entire complex.
The building sits by itself, away from the others, amidst towering trees, with a road leading to it, and would be a wonderful location for a gallery, restaurant, antiques or other retail shop, or for a music, theater, and/or special events venue (a number of people have gotten married here).

The mural cannot be painted over, if the building is leased, and hopefully won't be, if purchased, but we can't imagine anyone wanting to. (The slideshow below may be a problem for those offended by nakedness.)
